History
doesn't record the first chair, but there is little doubt
that it was made of materials that were strong, durable,
and pleasing to the eye.It is easy to see how "Bent-Willow"
could be the ancenstor of all furniture todayand why
it's still here. There are some who feel there hasn't been
much improvement since. Well, as they say,
"If it works, don't fix it".

Gardner's Willo'work furniture you know exactly what you're
getting...hand made furniture that is inviting, comfortable
and enduring. This is furniture to be lived with and enjoyed...and
still be around to give to your children or your grandchildren.
There is charm and magic in a Willo'work chair...the presence
of the willow...the chair as tree and the tree as chair. You
are closer to nature when you sit in a bent-willow chair...just
as people have been for generations. And each one is personally
tested...after a hard day's work, I get to sit down on the job.

Willow-Lore
Long before aspirin, willowbark was used as
a panacea, or cure all, for just about anything that ailed

willow family name is Salix, the name aspirin comes from the
spirea bush, which also has salicin in its bark....It
has been said that sitting in a
bent-willow chair helps with arthritis,
rheumatism and lumbargo...
